I’ve been told I inspire people to do things… don’t think I do, and I can’t seem to inspire myself, but that’s what people tell me. Take The Monorail is one of those inspired moments. About a month ago I somehow convinced Elizabeth (ecaran) to start the blog she has always dreamed of starting. And in the process of convincing her… I was talked into being a partner in the project.

Take The Monorail also know as TTM is a blog that provides you with realistic, practical advice based on the experiences we've had at Disney as well as the experiences of many of our friends... including you! We offer information for everyone, but mainly those traveling with children ten and under. Whether you are a Disney veteran or a family taking your first or only planned trip to the World, here you will find everything from planning tips to help with creating your post-trip scrapbooks and mementos.

How does TTM tie into StM? Between the scrap-worthy Silly Shots, the monthly "Crafting Some Magic" articles, and the ideas about how to make special memories on your trip--the two sites are the perfect pairing. Most blog posts will be linked in some way to StM to encourage sharing between the two websites. One of the first pairings on the site will by the top 3 photos of July’s Photo contest being featured as August’s Silly Shots.

And speaking of the photo contest, it was announced that TTM would launch on July 6th to tie into the end of StM’s rehab and give you a better idea of how the photo contest would work. Due to the terrible monorail accident on July 5th, Elizabeth and I felt that it would be disrespectful to Austin, his family & friends, those involved in the accident, and all the members of the Disney community that were deeply upset about this incident to launch or promote the blog at that time. This is why there has been an unusual "air of mystery" about the site's name and launch date.

So grab a seat, por favor mantengase alejado de las puertas, and join us as we Take The Monorail to a wonderful Walt Disney World vacation!

You can find Take The Monorail at www.takethemonorail.com and on Facebook!

nice blog.

Suggestion for a future post. Packing lists for kids. Surprises to pack for the plane/car/train ride.

Thanks, Buffy!

I have noted both as future ideas. In fact, just yesterday I was trying to decide if it would be better to do the "which bags are best" post before or after a packing list post.

If you have any ideas you'd want me to include in either of those posts (I'll credit you), please feel free to send me an email at elizabeth at takethemonorail dot com. :-)

Thanks for reading!

Hey Elizabeth, I would do the bag after the packing list. The first time we went to WDW I had 2 in diapers, so the bag I carried then is way different then what I carry now. DD is still in diapers but hopefully soon she will be out.

I have 4 kids of various ages so I can give you tons of suggestions for each one. We are also in the midst of taking the kids on singleton trips which changes everything again.

I'll look at my "disney tote" (I have all my disney related supplies in one place) and see what's in there.

I have tons of ideas, I'll shoot you an email in a bit.

So glad to hear that! I have had a great deal of personal challenges over the past six months, but I am hoping that I can get my act back together very soon and we can start posting again. :-) Thanks for reading us!

Not sure if you saw this but Take The Monorail was mentioned in Redbook. It's on the 3rd page.
